It all began in 1996 when a highly motivated, professional and entrepreneurial -minded youth- Hari Bahadur Ghimire started a small PAN registered Vehicle rental company at Sorakhutte, Kathmandu. With just one vehicle, the company started to cater to the demands of both the general market, offering airport wait and pickup services, as well as facilitating transportation between China-Nepal border (Kodari) drop-offs and pickups operating under the brand name "Kathmandu Vehicle Services.""

Four years later, Kathmandu Vehicle Services, the same business, was able to expand its fleet to five vehicles and begin operating as a startup business assisting corporate businesses in Nepal.

A decade later, in 2006, the founders of the company, who initially established the business in 1996, decided to undergo a rebranding process. They renamed the company as Nabil Transport, focusing on its primary services of providing vehicle rentals to select corporate clients in Nepal.

With an increasing demand of vehicle rental coupled with an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service, Sparklink was now ready to spread its wings into various facets of the vehicle rental market. This expansion initiative culminated in the establishment of a subsidiary company, Spark Car. In its initial stages, Spark Car commenced its operations by providing on-demand services, catering to clients and customers seeking vehicle rentals through phone-based requests.

Following years of unwavering dedication and continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, Sparklink decided to centralize its companies under one roof with the name Spark Group. The establishment of Spark Group aimed to enhance trust and provide expanded analytical services to both its valued customers and esteemed clients.

With the grand success of its family flagship "Spark Car," Spark group decided to open a new subsidiary named Spark Driver to facilitate its customers and clients with driver hire service all over Nepal. With an increasing demand in the market and unwavering commitment to excellence, Spark Driver was able to be an instant hit upon its launch. This marked the year Spark Car became number 1 car rental in Nepal.

In 2021, driven by a growing retail demand for vehicle rentals, Spark Car, Spark Driver, and Spark Auto Care seamlessly transitioned to target the retail market segment. This move positioned them to cater to customers across Nepal seeking rental and maintenance services for vehicles at any given time. This elevated Spark Car to an iconic status within the car rental industry.

Spark Group has always been agile when it comes to change/upgrades. Responding to market demands and customer preferences, Spark Group once again embraced evolution in 2022. This led to the introduction of their latest offering, Self Drive Nepal, revolutionizing the concept of vehicle rentals by enabling customers to drive themselves.
